Starters in scrubbers and sweepers, like in most engines, are the main components used to rotate or crank an internal-combustion engine that serves as the catalyst or initiator for the sweeper’s engine operations to transition it to use its own power. These starters can either come in electric, pneumatic or hydraulic forms. Large engines like scrubbers can even act as another internal-combustion engine, as well as a kind of a feedback system that relies on inertia from different cycles of the sweeper’s engine systems.

One of the most common types of starters in scrubbers is the electric starter motor. This type can either come in a permanent-magnet or a series-parallel wound direct current electric motor that is attached to a starter solenoid. This system acts the same as a relay, and this happens when the DC power of the engine’s starting battery gets in contact with the solenoid with the help of a key-operated switch, which is commonly known as an “ignition switch”. In addition, the hydraulic starters can provide a reliable method of starting an engine without the need of sparks even in a wide spectrum of temperature range.

The great thing today about replacing the starters of scrubbers is that you can now find these replacement parts manufactured and sold by big international brands like Advance and Power Boss. The starters from this brand are all of them guaranteed to be made from the finest quality materials tested for quality under strict and reliable standards.
